Another company, another claim

Hurt by someone who isn't your employer

Workers' compensation pays whoever employs you. If someone else caused the injury, they may owe you more.

A driver who hit you on a delivery. A contractor whose crane dropped a load. A machine that failed because it was built wrong. Comp covers you either way, and a separate claim against the other party can cover what comp doesn't, like pain and the pay it never replaces.

The insurer that paid your comp benefits may be repaid from what's recovered. We work out the numbers and tell you what you would keep before you decide anything.

  • Crashes on the road during a work trip

  • Defective tools and machinery

  • Injuries caused by another contractor on a site

  • Hazards a property owner ignored

Two claims, one injury

How the two claims fit together

  • Comp keeps paying

Your medical care and wage benefits continue while the second claim is worked out.

  • The other side is different

A company or driver who caused the injury answers to a separate claim, with its own rules and deadlines.

  • One lawyer for both

Dalbir handles both, so the paperwork on one claim doesn't undercut the other.
